World Hockey League Round 1: Team Ghana shine as Team Nigeria fail
The World Hockey Round 1 was held at the Theodosia Okoh Hockey Stadium in Accra Ghana over the weekend and Team Ghana will be proud of their achievements while Team Nigeria will have to go back to their drawing board.
The tournament is a Fast-paced and action-packed, that gives hockey fans the chance to see their team go all the way to the World Cup and Olympics. Composed of four rounds and played over two years, the Hockey World League shines a spotlight on the sport around the world.
A total of four teams participated in the men’s competition held in Accra; Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya and Namibia while a total of three teams participated in the women’s tournament; Nigeria, Ghana and Kenya.
Nigeria went into the tournament with the hopes of qualifying for the next round and ultimately making it to the world cup but couldn’t achieve their targets.
