Nicolas Jackson will be part of Chelsea’s pre-season tour of Asia after new manager Xabi Alonso confirmed the striker’s involvement during his first press conference.
Jackson’s future has attracted plenty of speculation in recent weeks, and Alonso’s comments provide the clearest indication yet that the striker remains part of Chelsea’s plans for pre-season.
Speaking during his first press conference, Alonso said:
“Nico Jackson is joining the tour in Asia and we are looking forward to him working with us.”
While Alonso did not address Jackson’s long-term future, his comments suggest the Senegal international will be given the opportunity to impress during Chelsea’s pre-season preparations.
Chelsea have already returned to training at Cobham as preparations continue for the 2026/27 campaign. The squad will travel to Asia before kicking off the new Premier League season against Fulham on 24 August.
