Iheanacho and Ojo score as Nigerian players get involved across Europe

 

Quite a number of  Nigerian players were involved across Europe for their respective clubs. Sportsration.com gives you the round up of their performances across the European Leagues

Kelechi Ihenacho (Manchester City)

The Nigerian wonder-kid scored a stunner for his club as they lost at home to Tottenham Hotspur. The young Nigerian showed calmness and composure and he should be proud of his performance.

Anthony Ujah (Werder Bremen)

Ujah played the full match as Werder Bremen played out a 1-1 draw with relegation threatened Hoffenheim at Weserstadion (Bremen).

Leon Balogun (Mainz 05)

Leon was a rock solid for Mainz 05 as they ran away with a 2-1 victory over Schalke 04.

Vincent Enyema (Lille)

Vincent kept another clean sheet as Lille held PSG the run away league leaders at Parc des Princes .

Elderson Echiejile (Monaco)

Echiejile helped his side to secured a point at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard against Saint-Ètienne.

Isaac Success (Granada)

Success was on the pitch through out the game as his club lose 3-0 to Real Sociedad at Estadio Municipal de Anoeta (Donostia-San Sebastián). He gave a good account of himself but his contribution couldn’t help his side as they were blown away by Sociedad.

Godfrey Oboabona (Rizespor)

Godfrey was on the pitch for the entire match and gave a solid display but his club lose narrowly to Sivasspor at Eylül Stadyumu (Sivas).

Kenneth Omeruo (Kasimpasa)

Ken couldn’t help his side as they lost 3-1 to Fernabache.

Aminu Umar (Osmanlispor)

Aminu who has not played for his side since his brace against Galatasary provided the assist for Rusescu goal but Osmanlispor lead was cut short as Ö. Şahiner 67′ equalized for Konyaspor. Though his club didn’t win the 20 -year-old Nigerian will be pleased with his display.

John Chibuike (Gaziantespor) 

John couldn’t help as his club lose 1-0 to Akhisar Belediyespor at home. He was on the pitch for the entire match, Gaziantespor were beaten 4-0 by Besiktas.

Chidozie Awaziem (Porto)

The 19yearold defender was given a rare start in the top of the table clash game with rivals Benfica and the Nigerian grabbed the opportunity with both hands.

Though he was caught out of his position for Benfica’s goal, the young central defender will be proud of his overall performance.

John Mikel Obi (Chelsea)

The reborn Nigerian international was an unused sub. We want to believe he was rested for the Tuesday Champions League clash against PSG.

Dele Aiyernugba (Bnei Yehuda)

Dele Aiyenugba the former Enyimba of Aba goal keeper was on the pitch for the entire duration and couldn’t stop his side from losing at home to Bnei Sakhnin.

Jude Nworuh was also on the pitch for Bnei Yehuda and lasted for 70 before he was replaced with Baldut. Bnei Yehuda lose 2-0 to Bnei Sakhim.

John Ogu, Anthony Nwakaeme  (Hapoel Be’er Sheva)

John Ogu played the entire match as his club won away from home to extend their lead at the top of the Ligat Ha’al table.

Anthony Nwakaeme  played for 69 before he was subsituted for M. Ghadir .

Nosa Igiebor (Maccabi Tel Aviv)

Nosa played for the entire duration as Maccabi Tel Aviv beat Maccabi Netanya 3-1 away from home.

Austin Amutu (Ironi Kiryat Shmona)

Amutu couldn’t help as his side lost at home to Hapoel Kfar Saba.

Samuel Gilmore, Olanrewaju Kehinde and Dimaku Fidelis (Hapoel Acre)

Gilmore played for 50min, Kehinde was an unused sub, Fidelis was not listed as Hapoel Acre beat Maccabi Petah Tikva a 2-1 away from home.
Ogenyi Onazi (Lazio)

Onazi was unused sub as his side beat Hellas Verona at Stadio Olimpic 5-2.

Jude was on the pitch for the entire duration as Watford beat Crystal Palace 2-1 at Selhurst Park (London).

Brown Ideye (Olympiakos Piraeus)

Ideye was on the pitch through out the game as his club lose narrowly to AEK Athens.

Abdul Ajagun (Levadiakos) 

Ajagun played for the entire duration of the game but couldn’t help his side as they lose to Panaitolikos.

Kim Ojo (OH Leuven) 

Kim Ojo scored his side’s 2nd goal as they played a 3-3 draw with Lokeren at home.

Onyinye Ndidi (Genk)

The Nigerian midfielder was on the pitch for the entire match as his side scored six goals against Waasland-Beveren. Ndidi 19, has played 22 times for his club so far this season, he is an important player for Genk.

Simon Moses (Gent)

Simon started the game but was taken off at 28min because of injury. His club went on to beat Mouscron-Peruwelz 2 – 0.
