How refusing to sign ‘Victor Osimhen’ will affect Arsenal’s title hopes – Patrice Evra

Manchester United legend Patrice Evra believes Arsenal’s failure to sign Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen could hurt their chances of winning the Premier League.

In a recent TikTok video, the former French international expressed disappointment with Arsenal’s transfer strategy, questioning how Galatasaray managed to secure Osimhen while Arsenal missed out.

“Tell me how Galatasaray could buy Victor Osimhen, but Arsenal didn’t,” Evra said, criticising the club for not securing a top-class striker.

Evra went further, arguing that Arsenal’s current squad lacks the firepower needed to win the title. “They don’t have a killer. They don’t have a striker,” he said, suggesting the Gunners are missing a key piece in their attack.

Osimhen, on loan from Napoli, has made an instant impact at Galatasaray, scoring four goals and providing three assists in just seven matches. His impressive form comes after a difficult summer where the striker couldn’t secure a permanent move away from Napoli.

Arsenal had shown interest in Osimhen during the transfer window, but the deal didn’t materialise. To make matters worse, another potential target, Ivan Toney, recently moved to Saudi Arabia, leaving the Gunners with limited striker options.

Evra’s comments come at a crucial time for Arsenal, who are hoping to end their long wait for a Premier League title. However, without a proven goal-scorer like Osimhen, Evra believes they will struggle to compete with top rivals.

With the Nigerian forward already shining in Turkey, Arsenal’s transfer decisions may come under further scrutiny as the season progresses.
