Manchester City Blow Three-Goal Lead in 3-3 Draw with Feyenoord

Manchester City missed a golden opportunity to secure victory as they allowed Feyenoord to come back from 3-0 down to draw 3-3 at the Etihad Stadium in the Champions League.

City looked in control early in the second half. Erling Haaland scored twice, including a penalty in the first half, and Ilkay Gundogan added a deflected goal to put City firmly ahead.

However, defensive mistakes changed the game. Feyenoord scored three goals in just 14 minutes, with Anis Hadj Moussa, Sergio Gimenez, and David Hancko taking advantage of errors, particularly from Josko Gvardiol.

Pep Guardiola made key substitutions with City leading 3-0, bringing on Kevin De Bruyne, James McAtee, and Jahmai Simpson-Pusey. The changes, meant to rest starters for the upcoming Liverpool game, left City’s defence vulnerable.

Guardiola later admitted the team lacked stability after the changes and expressed concern about their recent poor form, with this being City’s sixth consecutive match without a win.

Nathan Ake described the result as feeling like a loss and called for mental toughness ahead of their next match against Liverpool.

City fans will be disappointed, as their team continues to struggle despite showing flashes of dominance.
