Akwa Ibom State FA Mourns Demise of Former NFA President Ibrahim Galadima

The Akwa Ibom State Football Association has expressed deep sorrow over the death of former Nigeria Football Association President, Ibrahim Galadima, who passed away on Saturday at the age of 78 after a prolonged illness.

Chairman of the Akwa Ibom State FA, Mr Samuel Umoh, in a condolence message, described Galadima’s death as a huge loss to Nigerian football and the sports community at large.

Umoh extended condolences to the family of the deceased, the Nigeria Football Federation, the Kano State Football Association, and the entire Nigerian football family, praying for strength for all those affected by the loss.

He praised the late Galadima for his contributions to football development in Nigeria, especially during his tenure as NFA President between 2002 and 2006, noting that he played an important role in the growth and international representation of Nigerian football.

“Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima contributed his quota to the development of football in Nigeria during his time as NFA President and other positions he held,” Umoh said.

“He leaves behind valuable lessons for the next generation to learn from, so that our football continues to grow and improve.”

Born on February 15, 1948, Galadima was regarded as one of the respected administrators who helped shape football structures in Nigeria at different levels.
