Ancelotti Says Xabi Alonso Doesn’t Need His Advice for Real Madrid Job
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has said that Xabi Alonso does not need any advice from him about managing the Spanish club.
Alonso, who has confirmed he will leave Bayern Leverkusen at the end of the season, is expected to take over from Ancelotti at Real Madrid. The Spanish coach has agreed to a three-year contract with the club to become their new manager next season.
Meanwhile, Ancelotti is preparing to leave Madrid this summer to become the new head coach of the Brazil national team.
Speaking ahead of Madrid’s La Liga match against Mallorca on Wednesday, Ancelotti praised Alonso.
“Xabi Alonso doesn’t need any advice from me as he’s a great manager,” Ancelotti said, as quoted by football journalist Fabrizio Romano.
“He has everything to become a top, top coach.”
Alonso played as a midfielder for Real Madrid during his football career.
