Arsenal Celebrates Arsène Wenger on His 75th Birthday

Arsenal Football Club honoured their legendary former manager, Arsène Wenger, as he celebrated his 75th birthday on Tuesday, October 22, 2024.

Wenger, who managed the Gunners for 22 years, is remembered for transforming the club and setting new standards in English football.

Wenger’s tenure at Arsenal spanned from October 1996 to June 2018, during which he led the team to 704 wins in 1,228 competitive matches. His remarkable achievements included seven FA Cup victories, a feat unmatched in English football. Wenger is best known for guiding Arsenal to an unbeaten Premier League season in 2003/04, earning the team the nickname “The Invincibles.”

To mark Wenger’s milestone, Arsenal took to social media to honour their former boss. The club shared nostalgic photos from his time at the helm, accompanied by a heartfelt message:

“Invincible. Innovator. Legend. Happy birthday, Arsène Wenger.”

Though Wenger left Arsenal during a challenging period in 2018, his legacy remains deeply ingrained in the club. Current manager Mikel Arteta, sporting director Edu, and youth development head Per Mertesacker all played under Wenger and continue to embody his philosophy.

Today, Wenger serves as a FIFA director focused on advancing international football. His influence at Arsenal lives on, with a statue of the legendary manager standing proudly at the entrance of the Emirates Stadium.

Wenger’s birthday celebration comes at a time when Arsenal are once again in the hunt for the Premier League title, symbolising the enduring impact of his vision on the club’s ambitions.
