Brazil continues to dazzle on home soil with win over Peru
Colombia, Venezuela in drab draw
Brazil handed Peru a 4-0 thrashing at the 2021 Copa America as the hosts secured a second win from two games to remain clear in first place in group B. Juventus fullback Alex Sandro opened the scoring for Brazil before Neymar doubled their advantage. Further goals from Everton Ribeiro and Richarlison in the 89th and 93rd minutes helped Brazil seal a big win. Neymar’s goal means he is now only nine goals away from Pele’s Selecao record.
Colombia and Venezuela played out a goalless draw in Group B’s other game on Thursday. Venezuela keeper Wuilker Farinez made right saves in the game, the most made by a goalkeeper at the Copa America in over a decade. Colombia finished the game with ten men after Luis Diaz was sent off in the game.
