Shameful – World scrabble Champion and Team Nigeria deny Visa to participate in MSI 2016
The world scrabble champion, Wellington Jighere, and team Nigeria have been denied visa to participate in this year’s MSI French World Championships Grand Palais in Lille, world scrabble champion revealed via his facebook page.
The event which serves as one of the events to rank scrabble players will be held without the reigning world champion and best scrabble playing nation in the world.
Wellington Jighere took to his facebook page to express is dissatisfaction at the event and called on Nigerian administrators to do their jobs so that such event will not repeat itself going forward.
“This is to wish everyone participating in this year’s MSI World Scrabble Championships the best of luck since I and my Nigerian compatriots were refused visas.
“Yes, you heard me right! The number one Scrabble playing nation on earth was refused visas to enable her contingents participate at a Scrabble event.
“I guess some folk somewhere need to be better at their job next time.”
