Fans use Tuchel to mock Guardiola following his comments after PL’s charges against City

Football fans are not taking it easy on Pep Guardiola his comments after the Premier League filed numerous charges against Manchester City.

The Spanish manager who is the current manager of the Manchester-based club has come under heavy criticism for insinuating he would walk out on the club.

Manchester City have been charged by the Premier League on a 100-count charge for breaching financial fair play rules.

The Premier League in a statement revealed that they were charging Manchester City after a four-year investigation relating to over 100 alleged rule breaches over nine seasons from 2009-10 to 2017-18.

And Pep Guardiola who has spent well over £‎600m on players has been tipped to leave the club high and dry after an interview he granted in May resurfaced, where he said he would leave the club in case of any financial breaches.

“Why did I defend the club and the people? It’s because I work with them. When they are accused of something I ask them: ‘Tell me about that.’ They explain and I believe them,” Guardiola said last May.

“I said to them: ‘If you lie to me, the day after I am not here. I will be out and I will not be your friend anymore. I put my faith in you because I believe you 100% from day one and I defend the club because of that.’

The Premier League has referred the raft of alleged breaches to an independent commission which will now decide how to proceed, with potential penalties including points deductions or even expulsion from the division.

Fans are now using former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel to have a go at Pep Guardiola, during Chelsea’s difficult time when they were changing ownerships.

The German manager stood by the club, despite getting advances from other clubs to leave the London club, although his loyalty was not rewarded as he was sacked a few months after the situation at the club returned to normalcy.

Some of the fans who reacted on Twitter are asking Pep to be like Thomas who stood by his club in a difficult situation.
