Flight scare for Chukwueze as AC Milan encounters technical Issues mid-air
Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze and his club teammates faced a tense moment on Friday night as the private jet transporting AC Milan encountered technical difficulties while in flight.
The Milan team embarked on an unexpectedly prolonged journey to Florence in preparation for their match against Fiorentina on Saturday evening, as their aircraft experienced issues shortly after takeoff and had to return to the airport before resuming the journey.
Chukwueze, who was among the Rossoneri squad members, departed from Milan Malpensa airport in the evening on Friday. However, a few minutes into the flight, the aircraft was forced to return to the runway.
Reports from Italian sports tabloid TMW indicate that alternative arrangements were swiftly made to facilitate the boarding of another flight for the Milan players and coaching staff. Eventually, they managed to arrive in Tuscany, albeit significantly behind schedule.
While the typical flight time from Milan to Florence is approximately 50 minutes, the unforeseen technical issues resulted in Milan enduring a three-hour journey on Friday night.
Despite the delay, the team has now safely reached their destination in preparation for the upcoming match against Fiorentina.
