Get ready Lagos as Copa Lagos set to light up Lagos beachlines again

The much anticipated beach soccer event ‘Copa Lagos’ will take place between Friday, December 18 to Sunday, December 2015 according to Kinetic Sports, who are the organisers of the event.

In a ceremony held at the Eko Hotel & Suites, Lagos, the organiser say this year’s event-the fifth in the series will hold on the dates at Eko Atlantic City, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Kinetic Sports also announced the participants of the 2015 edition which will include FC Barcelona Beach Soccer Team, Kano Pillars the Pepsi Beach Soccer team and others to be named.

The England Beach Soccer squad [above] is also expected alongside other countries to be announced on a later date.

CEO of Kinetic Sports, Samson Adamu, while speaking at the event said this year’s edition will be fun filled as the tournament has become a lifestyle and not a traditional event.

“Kinetic Sports Management wants to make this year’s edition that will be kicking off intentionally with a new date of Dec’18 -20, 2015 to be a memorable one to linger for a long time in the minds of the people as she prepares to go beyond the limits to make it an anniversary celebration with a new dimensional focus on Concert and Fashion that will take the event beyond the beach soccer games as it prepares to give other opportunities and supports to the ever increasing Nigeria music industry,”Adamu revealed.

“We will be building on the ‘Clean The Beach Exercise’ scheduled for Dec’ 5th and the latest introduction ‘The Beach Soccer Kids Clinic’ come Dec’ 17, 2015 with an objective to engage over 100 kids between the ages of 8 -14 years and have them learn the essence of beach soccer.

“Special thanks to all our sponsors, FCMB, Pepsi, Orlean Investment, Louis Roederer, our media partners Super Sports and Cool FM and the host of other media organisation who have believed in this great vision from the cradle point of conceptualization to this very moment where the event has become an incredible spectacle that is here to remain for good, and also a key event in the international beach soccer calendar that has become one of the top five global annual event ,” he added.

In preparation for the event, Nigeria Beach Soccer national side, the ‘Super Sand Eagles[below]will resume camp as they gear up for the fifth edition of the Copa Lagos Beach Soccer International tournament.

Coach Audu Adamu Ejo has invited 20 players to camp to contest for shirts ahead the competition. The team list has Beach Soccer veteran Bartholomew Ibenegbu as well as Copa Lagos all time leading goalscorer Abu Azeez.

Victor Tale, Emeka Ogbonna and Olalekan Oladepo also made the cut as Nigeria looks to wrestle the title back from the Ivory Coast who she lost to in the final of the 2014 edition.
