Manchester City are facing a difficult season as they get ready to play Juventus in the Champions League.
The Premier League champions are struggling with injuries and poor form, putting their chances of qualifying for the knockout stages at risk. After disappointing results, including a heavy loss to Sporting Lisbon and a draw with Feyenoord, City are currently in 17th place in their Champions League group. Though they still have a chance to qualify, their path is not easy.
Key players like Rodri, John Stones, and Kevin De Bruyne have been injured for a while, which has hurt the team’s performance.
Manager Pep Guardiola said, “The season started difficult, and it will be difficult all season. We have to survive each game, try to get points, and keep moving forward.” He also encouraged his players to stay focused and resilient despite the challenges.
Guardiola added, “Don’t feel sorry, accept the challenge, and maybe at the end, we will feel more satisfied about how we handled things than in other seasons when we won titles.”
While City’s form in the league has been inconsistent, the Champions League could still offer them a chance to save their season. In the 2020-2021 season, they managed a strong comeback and won a historic treble. Can they do it again this time?
