Henry Offia on target in Flying Eagles narrow loss to Saudi Arabia U20

Swedish-based midfielder Henry Offia was on target but his strike didn’t stop the Flying Eagles of Nigeria from a 2-1 loss to Saudi Arabia U20 in a friendly at Sportschule Lindabrunn in Austria on Sunday.

At half time there was nothing to separate the two sides but the Saudi U20 were the better side.

The Saudi U20 took the lead through Al Qadisiyah FC striker Khalid Al-Ghannam ten minutes into the second half but the lead was shortlived with Henry Offia’s strike.

When it looked like another draw is on the card for Paul Aigbogun boys, Hamed Alghamdi fired Saudi back into the lead with his 80th minute strike.

There was no way back for the Flying Eagles who reportedly travelled from their Germany camp to Austria for 7 hours by train and then filed out three hours after arriving the venue for the clash,

The Flying Eagles will continue their preparation for the 2019 FIFA U20 World Cup with friendlies against TSG Hoffenheim (May 7/8), Red Bull Salzburg (May 14) and Red Bull Leipzig (May 17).
