Iheanacho: Super Eagles would do more to defeat Zimbabwe
Nigerian striker, Kelechi Iheanacho says the Super Eagles will do more to get three points in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification match vs Zimbabwe.
Iheanacho captained the Eagles for the game, a status he said was ‘huge honour’ .
In the match, Nigeria failed to defeat Leslie Notsi’s Lesotho side, instead having to come from behind to force a 1-1 draw at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Thursday, November 16.
The Leicester City forward who delivered the corner kick for Semi Ajayi to head home the equaliser against Lesotho stated that they must go all out for a win against Zimbabwe on Sunday, November 19.
“Huge honour to captain the boys yesterday I know this was a game we have to win but we didn’t. We got a point from it Hopefully we would do a lot more in the next game and get 3 points,” he posted on Social media.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification matchday two clash between Nigeria and Zimbabwe will take place at the Huye Stadium in Bature, Rwanda with kick-off by 2pm [Nigeria time].
