Jimmy Butler was awoken from his slumber with his Miami Heat side facing elimination from the Eastern Conference Finals, scoring 47 points in a 111-103 win over the Boston Celtics at the TD Garden.
Facing a win or go home situation, Miami Heat needed to find a way to defeat the excellent Boston Celtics in front of their fans, and they started the game very well.
Miami Heat took a 29-22 lead in the first quarter but the Celtics claimed the second quarter 24-19, ensuring that the Heat had a 48-46 lead at half-time. Erik Spoelstra’s men claimed a 34-29 lead in the third quarter before ending the fourth quarter with a 29-28 win, culminating in a 111-103 win for them against one of the best defensive teams.
Butler led the scoring for his side with 47 points, helping them avoid elimination from the series. With Tyler Herro missing, Kyle Lowry scored 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Heat, while Max Strus scored 13 points.
Jayson Tatum scored 30 points for the Celtics, Derrick White scored 22 points and Jaylen Brown contributed 20 points.
Jimmy Butler delivered one of the most clutch playoff elimination performances in the history of the NBA and has helped send the series back to Miami for what will be a thrilling conclusion.
