Julius Aghahowa joins Edo State FA Election race

40-year old former Super Eagles striker Julius Aghahowa is in the race for an executive position in the Edo State Football Association.

According to information available to SportsRation, Aghahowa has purchased and submitted his form for the Vice Chairmanship position.

The Edo State Football Association elective congress will take place on March 3, 2023 in Benin City the Edo State capital.

Aghahowa is among 19 aspirants vying for various positions in the Edo State Football Association.

Famous for his acrobatic goal celebration during his playing days, Aghahowa has since his retirement been involved with football intermediary roles plus footing grassroots football tournaments in Edo State.

In October 2022, the former Shaktar Donetsk goal-getter powered a Super four tournament in Benin City with mouth-watering prizes on offer.

With his experience and profile as one of Nigeria’s most prolific strikers, Aghahowa spices up what will be a keenly contested election especially with four candidates vying for the Chairmanship position.

Incumbent Edo State Football Association Chairman Roland Abu, Victor Teddy Egbon, Johnbull Edosomwan and Fred Newton have all been cleared to contest for Chairmanship position.
