La Liga Matchday 18 Wrap: Chukwueze stars, Cardiz hold Madrid as Sevilla beat Atleti

Samuel Chukweuze scored his second La Liga goal of the season in Villarreal’s 3-1 win at Sociedad while Cardiz held Real Madrid on Sunday.

Here is the round up of all that happened on La Liga Matchday 18.

Athletic Bilbao 3-2 Real Betis

A brace from Inaki Williams and a goal from Oscar de Marcos were enough to help Bilbao overcome Betis whose goals were scored by Nabil Fekir and Juanmi.

Sevilla 2-1 Atletico Madrid

An Ivan Rakitic beauty and a goal from Lucas Ocampos helped Sevilla overcome Ateletico whose goal was scored by Felipe.

The win at the Estadio R. Sanchez Pizjuan helped Sevilla reduce Real Madrid gap to 6 with Los Blancos playing one more game.

Barcelona 3-2 Elche

Barcelona La Masia graduates scored all the goals in their 3-2 win against Elche at Camp Nou on Saturday.

Ferran Jutgla, Pablo Gavira scored two for Barcelona at the end of the first 45 minutes but Elche scord two goals in a minute to draw level.

Second half substitutes Tete Morente and Pere Milla scored the goals in the 61st and 62nd minutes of the game but Nico Gonzalez came from the bench to win it for Barcelona.

Real Sociedad 1-3 Villarreal

Gerard Moreno scored a brace and could have gotten a hattrick but set up Samuel Chukwueze for his second La Liga goal this season to help Villarreal beat 10-man Sociedad at Reale Seguros Stadium.

Real Madrid 0-0 Cardiz

Eden Hazard, Vini Jnr. and Karim Benzema all started and ended the game but failed to lift Real Madrid against Cardiz at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday.

Madrid were in control of the game from the blast until the end but failed to find the back of the net as it ended goalless.

Granada 4-1 Mallorca

Jorge Molina score a hatrrick to help Granda to a 4-1 win against Mallorca.
