Napoli 4-3 Bodø/Glimt: McTominay Brace Inspires Thrilling Champions League Victory

Napoli claimed a dramatic 4-3 victory over Bodø/Glimt in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night, with Scott McTominay scoring twice to help the Italian side secure their first three points of the 2026/27 campaign.

The hosts made a flying start when Matteo Politano opened the scoring in the first minute. However, Bodø/Glimt responded through Jens Petter Hauge in the 27th minute before McTominay restored Napoli’s advantage shortly before half-time.

The Norwegian side refused to back down, with Håkon Helmersen equalising in the second half. McTominay then struck again in the 75th minute, producing another crucial contribution as the contest continued to swing between the two teams.

Napoli received another boost when an own goal from Jostein Gundersen Bjørtuft extended their lead in the 89th minute. Bodø/Glimt still found time to make the closing stages uncomfortable, as Sondre Fet scored in stoppage time, but Napoli held on for a valuable victory.

The result offered Napoli a much-needed lift in their European campaign. McTominay’s brace proved decisive, while the team’s ability to withstand late pressure ensured they came away from a fiercely contested encounter with all three points.
