Neymar’s father denies making fresh payments for Dani Alves’ bail
Neymar’s father has issued a statement refuting recent reports suggesting that Neymar’s family made fresh payments on behalf of convicted rapist Dani Alves. Speculation arose regarding a €1 million bail payment allegedly facilitated by Neymar’s family for Alves, who was convicted of sexual assault.
The ongoing legal proceedings surrounding Alves’ case have garnered media attention, particularly after reports emerged of a potential bail arrangement.
However, Neymar Senior clarified the family’s stance on their involvement in Alves’ legal affairs.
In an official statement released on Neymar Senior’s Instagram page, he addressed the matter, explaining that while they initially offered support to Alves, it was unrelated to any legal proceedings. However, following Alves’ conviction by the Spanish courts, Neymar Senior emphasized that the situation had changed.
“As everyone knows, at first, I helped Dani Alves, without any link with any lawsuit. In this second moment, in a different situation from the previous one, in which the Spanish Courts have already decided for the conviction, they are speculating and trying to associate my name and my son’s with a matter that is no longer up to us today,” the statement read.
Neymar Senior reiterated that their involvement in Alves’ legal affairs ceased following the court’s decision, expressing hope that Alves finds answers with his own family. He concluded the statement by affirming that for their family, the matter is closed.
The statement from Neymar Senior aims to distance Neymar and his family from any association with the bail payment for Alves, underscoring their decision to no longer be involved in the matter following the legal judgment.
