Nigeria 2 Korea 0: Asisat Oshoala named player of match

Asisat Oshoala has been named the player of the match for helping Nigeria to a 2-0 win against Republic of Korea in France on Wednesday.

For her effort in helping Nigeria secure their biggest ever world cup win since securing the same goal margin against Denmark in 2011, the Barcelona forward was awarded the best player of the match.

After an own goal from Korean defender Kim Do Yong in the first half, Asisat Oshoala scored a goal that could pass for the best of the tournament in the second half to complete the 2-0 win.

Although, Oshoala didn’t finish the game, her effort within the 83rd minute she spent on the field was enough to earn her the award.

Asisat Oshoala became just the second Barcelona player to win the player of the match award at the ongoing FIFA Women World Cup in France.
