Nigerian Midfielder Quadri Lyamid Rushed to Hospital After Losing Consciousness in Spain

Nigerian midfielder Quadri Liameed, popularly known as Kuadri Lyamid, was rushed to hospital after losing consciousness following a serious head injury during CE Sabadell’s Spanish second-division match against Albacete.
The incident happened in the 40th minute when Lyamid was reportedly hit on the head by a powerful kick from Albacete player Jose Corpas.
The challenge was believed to be accidental, but its impact left the Nigerian midfielder motionless on the pitch, forcing the referee to stop the match as medical staff rushed to attend to him.
Corpas was shown a straight red card following the incident.
Lyamid later regained consciousness after receiving emergency treatment. However, he was stretchered off the pitch and taken to hospital by ambulance for further medical examinations.
The match resumed after a lengthy delay, with Albacete eventually securing a 2-1 victory.
Albacete had taken a two-goal lead before Inigo Aguilar scored for Sabadell in the 81st minute, but the visitors held on to claim all three points.
Following the match, Sabadell confirmed that Lyamid was under medical observation. The club also gave an encouraging update on his initial medical examinations but said further checks were needed to determine the full extent of the injury.
His recovery period and possible return to action will depend on the outcome of the medical examinations.
