No Nigerian voted for Asisat Oshoala, not even the “praise singer” Perpetua Nkwocha

Not a single Nigerian voted for Asisat Oshoala for the top prize at the just conclude 2019 CAF African Women’s of the year award.

Five Nigerians including four-time African Women’s of the year footballer, Perpetua Nkwocha failed to back their country representative for the top prize.

Without their votes, Asisat Oshoala won the award to match Perpetua Nkwocha record of four victories.

It is surprising to know that Perpetua Nkwocha didn’t put her compatriot in the top 3 considering her praise singing on her social media platform after Asisat Oshoala was declare the winner.

How the Nigerian reps voted

The former Falcons star even likened Asisat to Lionel Messi but that didn’t stop the retired star from voting the reigning star in as the least deserving of the lot.

“I remember vividly when you were asked in an interview who you looked upto as a young star and you called my name and I smiled😂😂because I’ve seen you play😂😂.

“Hmmm what do you do if Messi says he look upto you?? You just 😊😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Congratulations Star girl.

“Make and break the records girl. The world at your feet,” she wrote on her page.
