Ohale, Ajibade make WAFCON 2022 team of the tournament

Super Falcons stars Ohale Osinachi and Ajibade Rasheedat have been included in the best XI of the 2022 Africa Women Championships.

It wasn’t the best outing for the Super Falcons of Nigeria who were chasing their 10th WAFCON title in Morocco.

Nigeria failed to win their 10th title and also fell into a new low by failing to make a podium place.

The Super Falcons who lost three games out of the 6 games they played in Morocco finished 4th after a 1-0 defeat in their third place match against Morocco.

Nigeria lost their first game 2-1 to South Africa, beat Botswana and Burundi 2-0 and 4-0.

They defeated Cameroon 1-0 and lost on penalty shootout to Morocco and 1-0 to Zambia in the semis and third place games respectively.

Despite the not soo good performances, defender Osinachi Ohale who was the woman of the match in the game against Burundi.

Rasheedat Ajibade who finished as joint top scorer and the woman of the match against Cameroon were included in the team of the tournament.

Ajibade and Ohale were also the only Nigerian players who were included in the team of the group stages.
