Osimhen’s Napoli out to make it a Serie A Hat-trick in the Champions League

For the first time in 17 years

Victor Osimhen and Napoli could make it a Serie A hat-trick as they host Frankfurt at the Diego Maradona Stadium in the UEFA Champions League round of 16 second-leg clash on Wednesday.

With AC Milan, and Inter Milan through to the quarterfinal, Napoli could become the third Italian teams to make it to the 2023 UEFA Champions League quarterfinal.

But standing in the way is the reigning Europa League winners, Frankfurt. Napoli go into the second-leg tie with a 2-0 advantage.

Goals from Victor Osimhen and captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo secured a 2-0 first-leg win for Napoli in Germany and they will look to wrap things up today.

Napoli will book a historic place in the Champions League quarterfinal should they avoid defeat against Frankfurt today.

This will be the first time Napoli will make it to the Champions League quarterfinal if the result goes their way at the end of today’s match.

Since Juventus, Inter, and Milan made it to the Champions League quarterfinal in the 2005/06 season, no three Italian clubs have achieved this feat.

Should Napoli progress, the 17-year-long record will also be broken.

4. Manchester City (England)
5. Bayern Munich (Germany)

With two spots up for grabs, Real Madrid host Liverpool in Spain, they won 5-2 in the first leg. Napoli also go into today’s clash with a 2-0 first-leg win.
