Pastore bashes Neymar for not being serious with football
Former Argentina international Javier Pastore has voiced criticism against Brazilian player Neymar, suggesting that Neymar lacks the same level of dedication and commitment to football as other football greats like Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
Pastore, who was a former teammate of Neymar at Paris Saint-Germain, expressed his views on Neymar’s career, stating that while Neymar possesses all the necessary qualities to excel in football, he falls short in terms of his drive and hunger for success.
“Neymar does not live for football 100%,” Pastore remarked in an interview with French media outlet LaNacion. ” If he had wanted, he would fight for the Ballon d’Or against Messi, Cristiano, and whoever, but he lives his life in a different way.
Despite his criticism, Pastore admitted his fondness for Neymar, mentioning that he had reached out to Neymar during his injury spell. Pastore also acknowledged his initial misconceptions about Neymar, revealing that he had expected someone arrogant but was proven wrong.
Pastore added: “I love him very much. I have written to him quite a bit now, during his injury. At first, I expected someone arrogant, and I was wrong.”
Neymar’s career has been marked by immense talent and skill, but criticisms about his attitude and commitment to the game have often surfaced. The forward is currently sidelined with injury.
