PSG Vs Inter Milan: UEFA Champions League final preview
French champions Paris Saint-Germain [PSG] will take on Italian side Inter Milan tonight in the final of the 2025 UEFA Champions League.
PSG are hoping to win their first ever Champions League title, while Inter Milan are chasing their fourth in history.
The final takes place at the Allianz Arena in Munich, and PSG manager Luis Enrique has a full squad available. This means he will have to make some tough decisions for his starting eleven.
Young forward Bradley Barcola scored twice in last weekend’s Coupe de France final and could start. He is battling for a place on the wing with exciting players Desire Doue and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. Kvaratskhelia had a minor injury recently but is now said to be fit.
In goal, Gianluigi Donnarumma is expected to start ahead of Matvey Safonov, who played in PSG’s last game.
Inter Milan are also eager to win a trophy after missing out on the Serie A title by just one point to Napoli.
Coach Simone Inzaghi rested most of his regular starters in last Friday’s game against Como. Key players like Nicolo Barella and Denzel Dumfries came off the bench, while stars such as Lautaro Martinez, Marcus Thuram, and Alessandro Bastoni were unused.
Captain Lautaro Martinez has not played since the semi-final against Barcelona due to a hamstring problem. He has been carefully managed ahead of the final. Defenders Benjamin Pavard and midfielder Piotr Zielinski are still being assessed after recent injuries.
Match Preview: PSG vs Inter Milan
PSG Form: LWWWW
PSG are aiming to complete a historic treble, having already won the French league and cup this season.
They were unbeaten in Ligue 1 for most of the season until surprise defeats to Nice and Strasbourg in April. However, they bounced back with a strong performance against Reims in the Coupe de France final.
In the Champions League, PSG were dominant in the knockout stages. They beat Liverpool, Aston Villa, and Arsenal to reach the final. Their victory over Liverpool at Anfield came via penalties. PSG now have the chance to win the European title that club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has long promised since taking charge in 2011.
Inter Milan Form: WWWDW
Inter Milan will be hoping to end their long wait for Champions League glory. They lost in the 2023 final to Manchester City and haven’t won the title since 2010.
This season, they knocked out Bayern Munich and then stunned Barcelona in a thrilling semi-final. Francesco Acerbi scored a last-minute equaliser to take the tie to extra time, before Davide Frattesi netted the winner to make it 7-6 on aggregate.
Inter are unbeaten in six matches and want to finish the season on a high after narrowly missing out on the Serie A and Coppa Italia titles.
