Sergio Ramos sets goal-scoring record as a defender
Sergio Ramos has set another goal scoring record as a defender in Real Madrid’s 1-0 hard fought win against Athletic Bilbao at San Mames Barria in a La Liga game on Sunday.
The Spanish and Real Madrid captain who already has set a few goal scoring records, added another records with his strike from the spot-kick against Athletic Bilbao on Sunday.
Sergio Ramos stepped up and converted the penalty awarded after Dani Garcia commited a clear foul on Marcelo in the area.

The goal was Sergio Ramos 10th of the season in La Liga making him just the first defender to achieve such feat since Fernando Hierro during the 1993/94 season.
And just the third centre-backs have scored 10+ goals in a single LaLiga season since 1980/81 season alongside
Fernando Hierro who did it twice, and Loren.
Sergio Ramos by converting the spot kick has now scored 18 penalties in a row, the longest streak in Europe. In total he has scored 22 penalties in row if you include goals from shootout.
The win solidified Real Madrid position at the top of La Liga table with four games to go as they go 7 points clear of their rivals Barcelona who have a game later today.
