Super Eagles forward Sadiq Umar picks favorite Nigerian City, reveals he has never been to Lagos before

Super Eagles and Real Sociedad of Spain striker Sadiq Umar has revealed his favorite Nigerian City while admitting he has never been to Lagos before.

Lagos is one of Nigeria’s most popular cities and serves as a commercial hub in the West African nation.

It is rare to find a footballer of Sadiq Umar’s status who has never been to Lagos before, sometimes for holidays like Arsenal’s forward Bukayo Saka who visited Lagos during the summer break.

Umar has named his favorite Nigerian City In a chat with OmaSports, stressing how proud he is to identify with his choice of hometown Kaduna.

Like other people, I’m just proud of where I come from. I like to go home for holidays, just to chill with my people. For me, I have never been to Lagos.” he said before explaining the only time he stepped foot in the South West State.

“I only went there once, due to transit. I was on a plane that was supposed to land in Abuja, but due to the weather, it had to land in Lagos, and after it landed in Lagos, we had to schedule another flight so I can go to Abuja, so whenever people talk about it, I don’t really know, but they say it’s a good place.

As a Nigerian, when they first see you, the first place they identify you with is Lagos is a very popular place. I feel better in Kaduna because that’s where my heart is. It is where I was born.” Sadiq said.

Meanwhile, Sadiq Umar has returned to action with Real Sociedad after missing last season with Injury. The tall forward joined the La Liga side in August 2022.
