Taiwo Awoniyi Shares His Dream Job After Football

Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi has revealed that if he wasn’t a footballer, he would have liked to be a doctor. In a recent video released by the Premier League, the 27-year-old Super Eagles forward shared his childhood dream of becoming a medical doctor.

Awoniyi’s journey to professional football began on the streets of Ilorin, Nigeria. He rose to fame in the 2013 Under-17 FIFA World Cup, where he scored four goals to help Nigeria win the tournament. His performance earned him a move to Liverpool, but he couldn’t play there due to issues with his work permit. He was loaned out to clubs in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany, where he eventually impressed and signed with Union Berlin. After that, he made a permanent move to Nottingham Forest.

Awoniyi has faced challenges since joining Forest, struggling with injuries and recently losing his starting spot to Chris Wood. Despite his past success, including helping the club avoid relegation, there are now rumors that he could leave Forest, with West Ham being linked as a possible destination. However, Awoniyi is hopeful for better opportunities and more playing time soon.
