Super Eagle stars Joe Aribo , Calvin Bassey and Leon Balogun will play in the final of this seasons UEFA Europa league after Glasgow Rangers defeated Liepzig 3-1 at Ibrox.
Rangers have reached the Europa League final for just the second time in their history after an unforgettable victory over Bundesliga side RB Leipzig .
Aribo and co started Thursday nights game trailing 1-0 from the first leg, but a double in the opening 24 minutes in Glasgow through James Tavernier and Glen Kamara turned the tie on its head.
Christopher Nkunku pulled one back for the German side in the second half as the clash looked to heading for extra-time, before John Lundstram’s late strike secured a remarkable 3-2 aggregate win for Glasgow Rangers.
Joe Aribo and Calvin Bassey were in the Rangers starting XI for the crunch tie at the Ibrox while defender Leon Balogun was listed in the reserves. Aribo was taken off with seconds to the end of the first half with a head Injury
Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side will face Frankfurt in the Seville final later this month, after the German side beat West Ham in the other semi final game.
It is the club’s first European final since 2008, when they fell to defeat against Zenit Saint Petersburg in the UEFA Cup final in Manchester.
