Lionel Messi has joined the exclusive 700th club after scoring a cheeky penalty in Barcelona 2-2 draw against Atletico Madrid in a La Liga game on Tuesday.
Before his goal today, only Juventus and Real Madrid forward, Crisitiano Ronaldo was the only active player on the exclusive list but with his goal, Lionel Messi joined him as the only active player to have scored 700 career goal.
He became just the 7th player to achieve this feat other players to have hit the 700 mark are:
Josef Bican, Gererd Muller, Pele, Ferenc Puskas, Romario and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Although, his 700th goal came from a spot kick, Lionel Messi has scored great goals in his career since he scored his first aged 17.
