Watch as Mbappe saves Messi’s blushes with last-gasp goal as PSG beat Madrid

Kylian Mbappe again showed why he is the main man at Paris Saint-Germain after scoring a late winner to save Lionel Messi’s blushes in the Champions League Round 16 first-leg win against Real Madrid.

Paris Saint-Germain were by far the best team on Tuesday at Parc des Princes and deservedly got a 1-0 win through a great Kylian Mbappe effort.

Real Madrid were pegged back to their half of the pitch as Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi ran the show before Neymar Jr. was introduced in the second half.

Paris Saint-Germain had the opportunity to take the lead in the 62nd minute when they were awarded a penalty after Dani Carvajal brought down Kylian Mbappe in the box.

Lionel Messi stepped up but his effort was well saved by Thibaut Courtois in goal for Real Madrid. The Belgian goalkeeper kept Real Madrid in the game with his saves.

But he had no answer for Kylian Mbappe’s 94th-minute strike, the French man who is said to be joining Real Madrid for free this summer, squeezed the ball past the former Genk goalie for the only goal of the game.

Kylian Mbappe made light work of Real Madrid defenders who were on him before shooting past Thibaut Courtois.

Here is the goal

Had the game ended a goalless draw, Lionel Messi would have been fingered for missing the penalty but Kylian Mbappe showed up late in the game just as he did over the weekend in their league win against Rennes.
