1. Nadal beats Monfils to claim his ninth Monte Carlo Masters title

Rafael Nadal was forced to work hard to claim his ninth Monte Carlo Masters title, overcoming Gael Monfils 7-5 5-7 6-0 in an exhilarating final on Sunday.

In a match that frequently swung from one player to the other, it was the grit and determination of Nadal that ensured he came out on top to draw level with world number one Novak Djokovic’s record of 28 ATP 1000 triumphs.

2. NBA Play-offs: Curry hurt in Warriors victory, Pacers win in Toronto

The Golden State Warriors cruised to a 104-78 win over the Houston Rockets at Oracle Arena.

But they have an injury worry over star Stephen Curry, who hurt his ankle and missed most of the second half.

Curry had managed 24 points in just under 20 minutes to help the Warriors to their win.

The Indiana Pacers stunned the Toronto Raptors as the NBA play-offs got underway, with the Golden State Warriors also winning on Saturday.

The Pacers claimed a 100-90 win in Toronto to take a surprise series lead in the Eastern Conference, in which the Raptors are the second seeds.

3. Rosberg wins Chinese Grand Prix, Hamilton finishes 7th

Nico Rosberg avoided the early drama to win his sixth successive Formula One race with a dominant display at the Chinese Grand Prix on Sunday.

Defending champion Lewis Hamilton – who started the race from last place on the grid – also suffered contact on the first corner but worked his way through the pack to salvage a seventh-place finish.

4. Liverpool fans singing and dancing after their historic comeback last night

Liverpool twice came from two goals down to book their place in the semi-finals of the Europa League with a thrilling 4-3 victory over Borussia Dortmund.

7. Warriors break NBA record, Bryant says goodbye in style

The Golden State Warriors have made history, claiming a record-breaking 73rd NBA regular-season win by defeating the Memphis Grizzlies 125-104.

The Chicago Bulls had held the record for most wins with 72, which they set back in 1995-96.

Kobe Bryant’s illustrious 20-season NBA career came to an end in fitting style after the five-time NBA champion and 2008 MVP had 60 points to lead the Los Angeles Lakers past the Utah Jazz 101-96.

Bryant, 37, was given the licence from the field as he went 22-for-50 as part of his haul at the Staples Center.
