Chelsea could sign defender linked with Barcelona & Arsenal for free

Chelsea are reportedly not done on the transfer market as they are linked to signing a highly rated French defender who had been linked to a move to Barcelona and Arsenal.

The French defender who started his career at Nice where he has played over 100 top flight games is said to be considering a move to Chelsea this summer.

Malang Sarr left his boy-hood club at the end of this season after failing to renew his contract with the French club with hopes of joining a bigger European club.

And according to report he could be on his way to Chelsea where he would reportedly sign a five year contract.

However, it appears that Chelsea have won the race for his signature with Telefoot reporting via Get French Football that the defender has agreed personal terms with the Blues over a four-year deal at Stamford Bridge.

Five-year contractual agreement for Malang Sarr with Chelsea, according to Téléfoot Chaine – player still needs to take a final decision on which proposal to accept.

Fabrizio Romano also confirmed the news but indicated that the player who is widely monitored by other European clubs wants to check his options before saying yes to Chelsea, a club he wouldn’t mind joining.

“It’s not a done deal,” says Fabrizio

“Chelsea are considering him as another ‘free agent’ opportunity after Thiago Silva (done deal).

“Sarr would like to join but he has also other bids, the board will decide with Lampard.”

Malang Sarr is a left footed central back who averages 90% pass accuracy, 2 interceptions per game and wins 52% duels of his duel.
