Coach Alex Nwora rates D’Tigers’ performance at FIBA World Cup as team lands in Nigeria

The coach of Nigeria men’s basketball team Alex Nwora has given his take on his team’s performance after his team arrived on Thursday.

Nigeria lost their first two games to super powers Argentina and Russia but went on to win their last three games against South Korea, CIV and hosts China a feat which won them an automatic Olympics ticket.

Alex Nwora reacting to his team performance on their arrival in Nigeria said the team fell short of their target but would take consolation in securing the sole ticket for FIBA Africa at the world cup.

The team which departed Guangzhou on Tuesday aboard an Emirates touched down in Lagos on Thursday.

Although, with most of the players returning straight to their clubs directly from China, the contingent that arrived in Lagos had Chimezie Metu, Talib Zanna and Deji Akindele, the Technical crew and backroom staff as well as some board members of the NBBF.

Nigeria finished 17th in the 32-country event.
