Daniel Akpeyi the hero as Kaizer Chief beat Cape Town City to advance to Telkom Knockout Cup last 8

Super Eagles goalie Daniel Akpeyi put up a man of the match display to help his South African club Kaizer Chief secure a big win against Cape Town City to advance to the last 8 of Telkom Knockout Cup.

Daniel Akpeyi was class during the match that ended 1-1 at the normal regulation and when the game entered penalty he was there to help Kaizer Chief to a 4-2 win at Cape Town.

Daniel Akpeyi was not to be blamed when Kermit Erasmus fired in a powerful shot from long range for Cape Town’s opener.

Minutes later Benny Mc Carty men would have increased their tally but Daniel Akpeyi made double saves to deny the hosts.

Daniel Akpeyi was again called into action when he stopped Dumisani Zuma from scoring.

Kaizer Chief got the equalizer and could have won the game but Billiat fluffed his chances.

Daniel Akpeyi stood his ground to practically drag Amakhosi to the shootout.

Amakhosi converted four of their five penalties with Lebogang Manyama missing his spot-kick while Daniel Akpeyi made a save to help his team progress.
