Dessers speaks on not making Nigeria’s squad for AFCON qualifiers against Sierra Leone

Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers has reacted to Gernot Rohr’s decision to not invite him for Nigeria’s AFCON double header qualifiers against Sierra Leone.

The Belgian born striker made his long awaited debut for Nigerian in an international friendly match against Tunisia last month.

Cyriel Dessers who was happy to finally made his debut for Nigeria was expecting another call up but it didnt come as Rohr opted for other options.

In his reaction, the Genk striker admitted his disappointment but vouched to keep working at his club so he could be considered again.

“Personally, I was not happy when I heard that I had not made the selection,” Dessers said.

“But that shows that I have to play more at Genk and try to be among the best players every week.”
