EPL Matchday 19 Recap: Iheanacho stars, Arsenal march on as Newcastle hold Man Utd

Kelechi Iheanacho was one of the biggest star players in the Premier League on matchday as the Nigerian contributed three goals in Leicester City’s 3-6 loss to City.

Here the recap of all that happened on matchday 19

1. Man City 6-3 Leicester City

Kevin De Bruyne, Riyad Mahrez, Ilkay Gundogan, Raheem Sterling brace, Aymeric Laporte scored the goals as City secured a 6-3 win against Leicester City for their 35th win in the calendar year.

It was the most in the Premier League history with 1982 Liverpool (33) and 2005 Chelsea (32) only those in this category.

Kelechi Iheanacho turned up in this game scoring one and assisting two goals.

2. Norwich City 0-5 Arsenal

Two goals from Bukayo Saka, a each from Kieran Tierney, Alexandre Lacazette, Emile Smith-Rowe from the bench earned Arsenal a convincing win against sorry Norwich.

Martin Ødegaard who assisted two goals put in a man of the match performance to continue his great run of form.

3. Tottenham 3-0 Crystal Palace

Lucas Moura was the unlikely hero as Tottenham beat 10-man Palace to earn a London derby bragging right. The Brazilian assisted Harry Kane, and Son’s goals and got one for himself.

4. Aston Villa 1-3 Chelsea

Covid-19 and injury raved Chelsea came from a goal down to beat Aston Villa at the Villa Park on Sunday. All four goals were scored by Chelsea players.

Recce James scored an own goal, Jorginho scored two penalties and put himself on the record books becoming just the only player in the Premier League history to score 9 penalty goals in a calendar year.

Romelu Lukaku scored a goal and won the second penalty scored by Jorginho.

5. Newcastle v Manchester United

Edinson Cavani came from the bench to rescue points for Manchester United against Newcastle United. Allan Saint-Maximin put the home side in front in the first half before Cavani’s second half equalizer.
