Fans thrilled as Pst Umo Eno Easter Unity Cup continues in Akwa Ibom
Football fans were thrilled with scintillating performances by youngsters as the 2023 Pst. Umo Eno Easter Unity Cup entered day two in Akwa Ibom State.
The tournament organized by the Grassroots Sports Federation of Nigeria – GRASOF kicked off on Wednesday April 5, 2023 with a colourful opening ceremony at the Practice pitch of the Nest of Champions, Uyo.
2022 Champions Dynamic FC were ripped apart 0-4 by Olegacy FC in the opening game.
Nine games took place on Thursday April 7 across two designated match venues.
In Uyo, De Ark Sports Academy and Pillars Sports Academy played out a 2-2 draw in the first of six games on Thursday.
Redemption Academy and ALGON Boys finished 0-0 before Miracle Boys defeated Maccito Solution 2-1.
Redemption Academy then lost 0-1 to Olegacy FC while
Bright Stars defeated Bright City 4-2 in the 2:30pm kick-off.
Defending Champions Dynamic FC defeated resilient ALGON Boys 3-2 in the last match of the day at the Ikot Oku Ubo Secondary School, Uyo.
At the Onna Stadium where Group A teams for the six-days long competition are based,
NNS Jubilee were hammered 2-5 by Seawaves FC in the early morning fixture.
Eagle Flair and Mobility FC played out a 1-1 draw before Seawaves FC made it two wins from two games with a 3-1 victory over Eagle Flair of Eket.
The tournament continues on Friday April 7, 2023 with group stage matches expected to end in three of the four groups.
