Gusau promises a total of 21,000 USD to Flamingos if they win FIFA U-17 World Cup

All allowances and bonuses to be paid directly into their accounts

The President of Nigeria Football Federation, Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau has promised a total of 21,000 dollars to Nigeria Women’s U-17 team should they win the FIFA Women’s U-17 World Cup.

During a chat with the team in India, the newly appointed NFF chief told the players that all their allowances and financial benefits will be paid directly into their accounts.

Gusau revealed that he sent them 3,000 dollars for their victory against Chile, and promised to pay them 3,000 for their quarterfinal win against the USA.

He promised another 5,000 dollars if they beat Columbia in the semifinal and a grand prize of 10,000 dollars if they win him the trophy.

“As I said the last time I spoke with you, Nigerians are happy with your performance.

“We came on board about 26 days ago, and I think the best gift you can use to welcome me is giving me the trophy. That is why I felt it is vital to leave every other thing to be here with you.

“One of the cardinal promises I made to Nigerians is to take care of the welfare of players and coaches. I will do everything possible to ensure you get all your rights.

“The last time you won your match I sent 3000 dollars to you (talking about the victory against Chile), and for the last match you won (USA) I will give you another 3000 dollars.

“So, if you win tomorrow’s match I will give you 5000 dollars. That one is not part of your allowances and I have come with your remaining daily allowances.

“By the grace of God if you are able to win the trophy for me you have 10,000 dollars, you people should not allow me to go back with that money in my bag.

“All your other bonuses will be paid into your accounts.

He then closed by asking the players to pray and asked their parents to pray for them specially.

“So, I want you to go and sleep well, pray before you sleep, call your parents, especially your mothers, call them to pray for you.”

The Flamingos will play against Columbia in the first semifinal at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Margao, by 12 pm Nigerian time.
