Houssem Aouar from Lyon to Arsenal off?

Houssem Aouar will not be joining Arsenal this summer from Olympique Lyonnais according to various reports.

The 22-year-old has been linked to the London club all summer with various reports claiming the deal is very close but with just two days to the end of transfer window the move has been cancelled.

Aouar was said to have agreed personal terms with Arsenal but the transfer fee has always been the issue as Lyon are unwilling to drop their valuation of the player.

While Arsenal are only willing to pay €38m + add ons, Olympique Lyonnais are only willing to sell the player for €50m + add ons.

With €12m difference in Arsenal’s last bid and what Olympique Lyonnais are expecting for their star player the move is said to have been cut off.

Transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Arsenal were interested in trying again but Olympique Lyonnais are not interested in any talks if it is not going to meet their valuation.

“Arsenal have never been “confident” today or on last few days just because Aulas always asked for €50m + add ons,” said Fabrizio.

“#AFC last bid was around €38m + add ons.

“They were prepared to try again on next 48 hours but *not* for €50m + add ons. That’s why OL consider the talks off.”
