Imama Amapakabo coaches Dream Eagles out of Olympics for his third elimination with Nigerian teams in space of 4 weeks
Coach Imama Amapakabo and Nigeria’s U-23 team have crashed out of the 2019 U23 AFCON championship.
The Olympics Eagles crashed out of the competition and a chance to secure an Olympics ticket after playing out a goalless draw against South Africa in their last group match today.
Imama boys started the tournament with a 1-0 loss to Cote D’ivoire, defeated Zambia 3-1 in their second game but could only play a goalless draw against South Africa at the Al Salam Stadium In Cairo.
1-0 victory for Cote d’ivoire in their game against Zambia sealed their place at the top of the table with 6 points, South Africa with 5 points and Nigeria with 4.
This is the 3rd tournament that coach Imama Amapakabo will be crashing out with Nigeria’s team after overseeing the eliminations of the Home Eagles in the WAFU cup and CHAN 2020 qualifiers; all in the space of 4 weeks.
Nigeria who are the defending champions are out and ultimately out of the Olympics where they won a bronze medal in the last edition.
