Joseph Atule joins Katsina United FC
Katsina United FC has announced the signing striker Joseph Atule from Nigeria Premier League side Lobi Stars FC for an undisclosed fee.
This comes few days after trending reports claimed Atule had signed for former Nigerian Champions Rivers United FC, a claim the forward vehemently denied.
Joseph Atule was in action for Lobi Stars FC vs City FC at the Naija Super 8 playoffs in Eket last weekend, scoring a late equalizer to help the Markurdi based side force penalty shootouts and eventually secure the North Central ticket.
In a statement on its official Social media handle, Nigeria National League club Katsina United FC announced it has completed a move for the prolific forward.
The statement signed by Nasir Gide the Clubs media officer read ” Joseph Atule has agreed to join his former Club Katsina United Fc in an undisclosed fee
“The Former Lobi Playmaker and goal Machine who made Ten Goals (10) Contributions in the just concluded NPFL Season is set to sign a 2 Years Contract with the Chanji Boys.”
Atule, SportsRation understands is expected to beef up the Katsina United FC team as they battle for promotion at the Nigeria National League Super 8 playoffs.
Clubs are allowed to register five new players an option Katsina United FC has activated with the signing of Atule and other yet to be identified players.
The NNL Super 8 playoffs gets underway in July at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba , Delta State.
Katsina United FC will battle the likes of Kano Pillars whom they defeated at the Naija Super 8 playoffs on Sunday June 25, for a return to the Nigeria Premier League following a season in the second tier.
Joseph Atule returns to a familiar territory hoping to help fire the club he was represented back to the elite division ahead of the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier League season.
