LeBron passes Wilkins on all-time scoring list
LeBron James moved past NBA great Dominique Wilkins for 12th place on the all-time scoring list.
A lay-up towards the end of the first quarter during Thursday’s 107-87 win over the Brooklyn Nets gave James the six points he needed to make the pass.
He finished the game with 24 points and 10 assists, and now has 26,689 points total for his career.
“I’ve been very durable throughout my career and I’ve played with some great team-mates and two great organisations through all my career that allowed me to put the ball in the basket,” James said earlier of passing Wilkins, via ESPN.
“They’ve set screens for me, they gave me passes in transition, they’ve set me up offensively, and I’ve been able to come through for my team-mates, so this results in that being the case.”
Interestingly enough, the Cavaliers will play the Hawks in Atlanta, where Wilkins is an analyst for his former team, on Friday.
