Messi to renew Ronaldo rivalry as an Italian club earmark £235m for the Argentine

Lionel Messi could be on his way to Italy to continue his high profile rivalry with Cristiano Ronaldo as an Italian club is set to have earmarked £235m for the Argentine.

The Argentine super star could finally leave Barcelona after spending more than fifteen years at the Catalan giants according to reports.

Messi’s existing deal at Camp Nou is due to expire in June 2021, and there has been speculation surrounding the Argentina international’s future in recent weeks.

But reports from Italy are suggesting that Inter Milan are willing to break the bank to bring the Argentine to Italy.

Although, Inter Milan’s coach Antonio Conte and club’s CEO Giuseppe Marotta rejected any chances of the club signing Lionel Messi, reports from Italy says he is closing in on a move to Italy.

In fact, Gazzetta dello Sport claims Inter are working on a potential move behind the scenes and are prepared to offer the South American a four-year contract worth €260m (£235m).

This will give Lionel Messi another opportunity to go head to head with Cristiano Ronaldo who currently plays for Juventus and previously with Real Madrid.
