Nigerians Abroad: Babajide Akintola on target; Isaac Success’ double assists, Daniel Akpeyi, Leon Balogun & Etebo star

A few Nigerian players were in action on Tuesday for their respective European clubs as the league cups and champions league qualifiers continue.

Champions League Qualifiers

Babajide Akintola, Samuel Adegbenro (Rosenborg)

Babajide Akintola and Samuel Adegbenro were on the pitch but couldn’t do much to overcome the 2-0 deficit against Dynamo Zagreb.

BabaJide Akintola reduced the deficit with his 11th minute strike but the visitors pegged their hosts back to record a 3-1 aggregate win in Norway.

Iyayi Atiemwen ( Dynamo Zagreb)

Iyayi was a second half sub in the game. He helped his side secured their place in the 2019-20 champions league group stages.

Carabao Cup

Oghenekaro Etebo (Stoke City)

Eagles midfielder was in action for Stoke City in their against Leeds United to book a third round place in the Carabao Cup.

Etebo who was introduced in the 70th minutes scored one of the penalties as Stoke marched on instead of their championship rivals.

Isaac Success (Watford)

Former Granada sharp shooter was in full swing as he assisted two of Watford three goals against Coventry City in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday.

Leon Balogun (Brighton )

Former Mainz defender who has found playing time in England very rarely was in action for Brighton in their 2-1 win against Victor Adeboyejo’s Bristol City.

Daniel Akpeyi (Kaizer Chiefs)

It was a great night for Eagles number one goalie Daniel Akpeyi in the Absa Premier League as he helped Kaizer Chiefs to a 2-1 at Benni McCarthy’s Cape Town FC.
