Nigerians Abroad: Eleke, Aremu and Sadiq included in top 10 from weekend games

Umar Sadiq and Anthony Nwakaeme started the weekend with goals on Friday and the likes of Henry Offia, Taiwo Awoniyi, Paul Onuachu continued on Saturday and Sunday.

10. Victor Osimhen (Lazio 1-2 Napoli)

Victor Osimhen was on the pitch the entire duration of the game as Napoli secured a late 2-1 win to go top in Serie A.

The Nigerian striker was unlucky to be on the scorers’ chart on Sunday. He had two shots on target.

9. Henry Offia (Sirius 2-2 Trelleborgs)

Former Nigeria U-20 forward Henry Offia was on target for Trelleborgs as they played a 2-2 draw against Sirius
in Svenska Cup round two game.

8. Peter Olayinka (Hradec Kralove 1-5 Slavia Prague)

Peter Olayinka was on the pitch for 70 minutes as Slavia Prague secured a comfortable 5-1 away win against Hradec Kralove.

Olayinka assisted the third goal scored by Slavia Prague. He has now scored 5 league goals and assisted 3 goals in 16 league games this season.

7. Ahmed Musa (Basaksehir 1-2 Karagumruk)

Super Eagles captain scored his second league goal when he helped Karagumruk secure a 2-1 win at Basaksehir.

7. David Okereke (Verona 3-1 Venezia)

David Okereke scored his 6th league goal of the season as struggling Venezia were beaten 3-1 on Sunday.

6. Afeez Aremu (Ingolstadt 1-3 St. Pauli)

Afeez Aremu was on the pitch the entire duration of the game as St. Pauli secured a 3-1 away win against Ingolstadt in a Bundesliga 2 game.

The former Sunshine Stars and Rivers United midfielder has been a key member of the Bundesliga chasing St. Pauli.

5. Taiwo Awoniyi (Union berlin 3-1 Mainz 05)

Taiwo Awoniyi has finally ended his goal drought after coming from the bench to help Union berlin secure a comfortable 3-1 win against Mainz 05 on Saturday.

It was his 10th league goal of the season.

4. Paul Onuachu (Genk 2-0 Kortrijk)

Paul Onuachu was involved in both goals as Genk beat Kortrijk on Sunday. He scored one and assisted the other as Genk secured all the points.

Paul Onuachu now has 16 goals, 2 assists in 25 league games.

3. Blessing Eleke (Genclerbirligi 2-0 Balikesirspor)

Nigerian striker Blessing Eleke was on target as Genclerbirligi secured a 2-0 win against Balikesirspor in a Turkish second division league game on Saturday.

Blessing Eleke has scored a total of seven goals in nineteen league games for his Turkish club.

2. Anthony Nwakaeme (Trabzonspor 3-2 Yukatel Kayserispor)

Super Eagles forward Anthony Nwakaeme scored his 9th league goal of the season with the last kick of the game to help Trabzonspor to a 3-2 against Yukatel Kayserispor on Friday.

Anthony Nwakaeme also provided an assist for one of the goals as Trabzonspor came from two-goal down to secure a 3-2 win against Yukatel Kayserispor.

1. Umar Sadiq (UD Almería 3-1 Fuenlabrada)

Umar Sadiq contributed two goals after scoring and assisting a goal in UD Almería 3-1 win against Fuenlabrada in a LaLiga Smartbank game on Friday.

The Nigerian striker was actually involved in all three goals as Almeria ran out a 3-1 win against visiting Fuenlabrada to go top in the Spanish second division league.

Umar Sadiq has now scored five goals and assisted one in his last four games for Almeria. He has a total of 13 league goals this season in 24 games.
