Nigerians Abroad: Ramon Azeez, Peter Olayinka, Chuba Akpom, Umar Sadiq, Theophilus Solomon & Alex Iwobi on target as over 20 others feature

There were a little more 20 Nigerians in action across Europe and Asia over the weekend.

While the likes of Ramon Azeez, Peter Olayinka, Chuba Akpom, Umar Sadiq, Theophilus Solomon and Alex Iwobi were on target as a host of others helped their clubs to victory, a draw or unlucky in defeat.

Here is a recap of some Nigerians based abroad who were in action.


Frank Onyeka (Midtjylland)

Frank Onyeka was in action for Midtjylland action in their 1-0 home win against Brøndby in the Denmark Superliga.


Chuba Akpom, Anderson Esiti (Paok FC)

Former Arsenal trainee, Chuba Akpom was on target in Paok FC 2-1 win against Paninios. Anderson Esiti was also in led for Paok in their Greek Super league clash.


Taye Taiwo (RoPS)

Former Milan defender, Taye Taiwo was in action for 90 minutes in their 2-2 draw against Helsinki in the Finland Veikkausliga.

Faith Obilor (Helsinki)

Faith Obilor was also involved for Helsinki in the 4 goal thriller draw against RoPS.


Godswill Ekpolo (Hacken)

Godswill Ekpolo was dropping a man of the match performance for Hacken against Falkenbergsff before he got injured in their 4-1 home win.

John Chibuike, Peter Nsima (Falkenbergsff)

John Chibuike and Peter Nsima were on the pitch from the start but were unable to change anything as Falkenbergsff suffered a 4-1 whitewash at Hacken.

Alhassan Yusuf (Goteborg)

Alhassan Yusuf continued his rise in the Swedish league as he powered Goteborg to a 2-0 away win against Sundsvall in the Sweden Allsvenskan.


Solomon Otabor (CSKA Sofia)

Victor Osimhen (Lille)

Victor Osimhen put in a good shift but unable to help Lille as they fell to a 2-0 loss vs Stade Reims in the French Ligue 1.


Bright Edomwonyi (Austria Wien)

Bright Edomwonyi came on as a 76 min sub as Austriawien fell to a 1-3 loss to Rapidwien in the Austria Bundesliga.

Czech Republic

Peter Olayinka (Slavia Prague)

Peter Olayinka was on target for Slavia praha as they played a 1-1 draw against 10-man Opava in the Czech Republic top flight league.


Blessing Eleke (FC Luzern)
